PURPOSE: The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive DEI strategy for TCCP. These strategies will build upon the TCCP culture and ensure higher levels of engagement and performance within the organization, and align our DEI programs and initiatives to our mission. This newly created role will focus on ensuring our policies, processes and practices accelerate diversity in leadership, support a culture of inclusion and belonging at all levels, and build relationships with community organizations and experts.

 

REPORTS TO: CEO

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work in partnership with leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy for TCCP
  • Serve as the DEI subject matter expert, consulting with the TCCP leadership team, Board of Directors, and Human Resources to understand and identify areas of opportunity to deliver on our strategies
  • In partnership with Human Resources, establish a talent strategy to increase diverse leadership and attract diverse talent
  • Develop and implement DEI focused programs, resource groups and other initiatives to support a culture that is diverse, inclusive and creates a sense of belonging
  • Develop and implement DEI training and awareness programs, ensuring employee and leader compliance with training requirements
  • Develop and implement programs to identify and partner with product sources from the BIPOC community
  • Establish metrics and analyze trends, raising awareness and ensuring internal practices support and accelerate change
  • Leverage data and insights to influence and facilitate organizational change to foster DEI
  • Collaborate with department leaders across TCCP to integrate DEI into current department strategies
  • Coordinate TCCP community DEI activities

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of this position
  • Demonstrated ability of at least 5 years of experience leading and advancing equity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives within organizational settings
  • Is a gifted facilitator, connector of people, and presenter of information. Creates safe and courageous spaces for dialogue, discussion and sharing of difficult topics
  • Is an impactful and influential public speaker and is comfortable serving as an organizational spokesperson
  • Exceptional communicator with an emphasis on listening to understand
  • Preference for experience in operations (including financial responsibility), and contain a combination of experience with Human Resources, Organizational Development, Culture, Sociology, or Psychology
  • Is a champion for diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and anti-racist systems by evaluating policies, procedures, and ideas to interrupt and/or resolve systemic racism and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Values learning from others. Is a deep, compassionate, and empathic listener to the ideas, experiences, viewpoints, and perspectives of others
  • Builds trust by demonstrating respect, creating transparency, keeping commitments, and actively working to restore trust when necessary
  • Collaborates effectively by working authentically and openly with colleagues inside and outside the organization. Exhibits a spirit of true partnership that benefits all parties engaged in the project
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization

 

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to travel regularly among store locations
  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time per shift
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation
