Full-time, PM Shifts


PURPOSE: Organize and motivate cooks and kitchen staff through assignment of recipes and tasks to produce the best tasting product in the most efficient way and ensure the highest level of food safety that exceeds health code, while actively fostering a positive and safe workspace for all.


REPORTS TOCommissary Kitchen Manager



  • Create daily production lists for cooks and prep cooks, incorporate tasks from prep sheets into production, follow daily lead checklist
  • Delegate tasks and communicate to cooks and kitchen staff to achieve the most efficient shifts possible
  • Cultivate proper understanding of taura 2 software to create invoices and accurately bill and credit all customers. Communicate any outages to locations and coordinate replacement items
  • Assist with catering order list writing and production when needed and see out orders with couriers
  • Ensure staff are following all safety procedures, department food safety guidelines, organic certification procedures, allergen handling and department policies
  • Assist with packaging product when needed
  • Provide training and coaching to cooks and participate in training in other leads when needed. Record all feedback given; report job performance and staff attendance to management
  • Provide quality control on recipes under all stages of completion and ensure finished product is consistent with department standards and labeled properly.
  • Ensure weekly cleaning lists are completed in kitchen and dish area and designate extra tasks when needed and ensure all end of shift and end of night closing duties are completed
  • Place orders for and receive product when needed and record properly in order log. Ensure accurate transfers between Table/Lyndale departments and complete waste logs.
  • Help lead daily huddles and foster open and positive communication during huddles and over all shifts
  • Monitor and properly care for kitchen equipment and notify management of any issues
  • Support Managers and Commissary agenda; acts as communication link between Managers and CMS staff
  • Participate in inventory when needed
  • Complete other tasks as assigned



  • At least 1 year prior cooking or catering experience needed 2+ years preferred
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills in absence of a manager.




  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to work standing on a hard surface for an 8 hour shift
  • Frequent bending, twisting and stooping
  • Manual dexterity including simple grip with knives and use of a motorized slicer
