FULL TIME, OVERNIGHTS 7pm to 5am (4 X 10 HOUR SHIFTS PER WEEK)

Purpose: To prepare an abundance of the highest quality baked goods; work as a team to fill daily orders, package for shipment while maintaining a level of department cleanliness exceeding health code standards 

REPORTS TO: Shift lead, Bakehouse Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare baked goods as needed to keep orders filled
  • Accurately follow recipes.
  • Bake items in an efficient, time effective manner; complete baked goods before leaving shift.
  • Assist in packaging and labeling duties, as needed.
  • Occasionally assist in other areas of production (kitchen) with prepping ingredients, packaging, and/or some cooking tasks, as needed and where cross-trained
  • Create consistent products that do not stray from the recipe unless lead baker requests it be done.
  • Follow proper storage and labeling procedures.
  • Keep kitchen clean and organized; wash dishes and consistently complete weekly cleaning duties.
  • Follow established procedures for recording transfers from other departments.
  • Alert Bakehouse Manager and shift leaders to low supplies or out-of-stocks of basic ingredients and supplies.
  • Use department equipment safely. Advise Bakehouse Manager of equipment repair needs.
  • Become familiar with policies and procedures including member policies. Answer questions effectively and refer unanswered ones to the appropriate staff. 
  • Read logs and use logs as a communication tool.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Bakehouse Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous baking experience preferred
  • Friendly, flexible, and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, receive feedback, and willingness to perform last minute tasks
  • Highly productive, team focused and efficient workstyle
  • Willingness to follow manager's instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicative of issues to shift lead or manage
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to read & follow directions

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to bend, grasp and lift (up to 60 lbs.)
  • Continuous standing and walking for 8 hour shift
  • Good tasting and smelling ability
