Location: 2412 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN, 55404

Purpose: To package, properly store, and track commissary made product, wash all dishes from both back and front of house, and complete prep cooking shifts, all while maintaining an extremely high level of cleanliness that exceeds health code while contributing to a positive and safe workspace for all.

Reports to: Commissary Shift Leads, Kitchen Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Wash and put away dishes used by kitchen, bakery, and front of house.
  • De-lime dishwasher, complete weekly cleaning and organizing projects, clean bathrooms according to schedule, and keep the dishroom in a high state of cleanliness.
  • Package and label all pre-packaged food. Understand the dating and tare systems and handle all food according to the highest food safety standards.
  • Place all packaged food in correct shipping locations and communicate invoicing needs to shift leads.
  • Complete prep shifts in the kitchen preparing items such as: Vegetable processing, grain and pasta cooking, and bulk meat prep while following all food safety procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships and direct communication with all co-workers and between all departments.
  • Work in a safe manner, following all safety procedures, food safety requirements, and foster a safe, positive, an inclusive work environment.
  • Complete any other tasks assigned by Shift Leads or Kitchen Manager.

Performance Criteria:

  • Friendly, flexible, and courteous with co-workers. Stays calm in stressful situations, and is willing to do last minute tasks.
  • High productivity and efficiency resulting in all available deli product packaged and sold, dishes cleaned, and prep lists completed.
  • Proper understanding of Wedge shipping and invoicing systems.
  • Follows manager's instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills in absence of a manager.
  • Communicates all problems and issues to a shift lead and/or manager promptly.
  • Is positive and accepting of feedback and critique.
  • Cooperative, respectful of others, and fosters a team-focused attitude.

  • Repeated bending and lifting
  • Exposure to temperature extremes (both hot and cold)
  • Exposure to cleaning solutions
  • Climbing ladders
  • Working with knives, ovens, and stove tops
  • Standing and walking for an 8 hour shift
  • Manual dexterity
