FT, Various Hours including weekends

Location: 2412 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN, 55404

PURPOSE: To prepare and serve quality food and drinks, stock produce and groceries and assist customers.  To maintain a clean, organized work area following daily and weekly duty lists, keep an accurate till and prepare and stock supplies.

REPORTS TO: Table Manager and Table Assistant Manager


  • Prepare food and beverages for customers on demand in an efficient, timely manner following recipes to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Clean and straighten case, arranging bowls and plates neatly.  Garnish with fresh herbs. 
  • Receive deliveries and retrieve orders of market products, produce, and supplies. 
  • Trim, wash, and bundle produce, culling several times daily.
  • Stock, rotate and replenish displays.  Pull short-date or low quality items.  Report missing or inaccurate shelf tags to a manager.  Maintain over/short notification system.
  • Clearly record any losses and transfers in the appropriate place.  Dispose of damaged or spoiled goods promptly.  Participate in quarterly inventory as directed.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer following an established protocol.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Maintain a clean work space and organize storage areas.
  • Use equipment safely.  Follow procedures for handling breakdowns.  Inform a manager of equipment repair, replacement and supply needs.
  • Train new staff as assigned.
  • Become familiar with co-op and owner policies.  Answer questions effectively and refer unanswered questions to the appropriate staff, following up as needed.
  • Answer the phone as needed, following phone procedures.
  • Read the electronic bulletin board and use it as a communication tool.
  • Follow security procedures in handling potential shoplifters.
  • Work in a safe manner, following safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Table management.


  • Familiarity with natural food.
  • Experience serving the public in a busy retail environment.
  • Friendly, effective and courteous customer service with ability to project friendly, outgoing image.
  • Solve problems in absence of supervisor, communicate them promptly.
  • Must be 18 years old for beer/wine serving.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment.


  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Able to work standing for 8 hours.
  • Repeated twisting and bending.
  • Comprehensible speech and ability to perceive spoken voice clearly.
  • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
  • Correct tasting and smelling abilities.
